VISION: A fair world where all communities can access essential veterinary care services, supporting healthy animals, resilient livelihoods, food security and protection for our shared environment.
MISSION: We empower small-scale livestock farmers and rural communities in the developing world to improve animal health, welfare, and farm sustainability through education, veterinary services, and the development of lasting infrastructure. We do this by partnering with like-minded NGO’s, and work within an integrated One Health framework that supports human well-being, animal health and ecosystem health, for the collective benefit of all.
Our Values:
Solidarity: Our values are rooted in a sense of solidarity with small-scale livestock farmers in the Developing World arising from our backgrounds in agriculture and veterinary medicine in Ireland. We strive to understand the challenges faced by these farmers and to provide meaningful assistance.
Knowledge Sharing: Our focus on assisting farming families to improve the productivity, health and welfare of their livestock is based on a culture of volunteerism amongst our supporters and a desire to share our professional knowledge.
Collaboration: We believe in collaborating with other like-minded individuals and organisations to enable us to be as effective as possible.
Respect: Our work with farming families is based on a mutual respect and a belief that listening to and empowering these communities is the most effective way to improve their circumstances. We ensure that marginalised groups such as women, and ethnic minorities are at the heart of the projects in the communities we partner with.
Learning: At all times we strive to be a learning organisation, open to new ideas, approaches and opportunities which further our aims.
